Learning pathways

The Learning Pathways proposed by Gardeniser Academy are free, digital, and multilingual training courses, designed to support the creation and management of community gardens in educational, intercultural, and neighborhood contexts. Each pathway provides concrete tools and skills that can be directly applied in the daily practices of the community.

The three pathways

The pathways follow the same methodological structure but are designed for different contexts:

  • School Gardens – aimed at school staff interested in developing educational gardens.
  • Intercultural Gardens – dedicated to those who want to cultivate spaces where the garden becomes a place of intercultural encounter.
  • Citizen Gardens – intended for those who wish to start or improve gardens in local neighborhoods, promoting social inclusion and civic participation.

Structure of the pathways

Each Learning Pathway is built according to a sequence that facilitates understanding and implementation:

  1. Main modules: Fundamental segments of the entire pathway, each dedicated to a specific theme or stage of the process.
  2. Lessons within the modules: Each module contains several lessons, focused on concrete and operational topics.
  3. Topics and multimedia materials: Each lesson is divided into topics (smaller units), which provide:
    • explanatory texts,
    • practical sheets,
    • introductory videos to contextualize and expand learning,
    • interactive exercises and additional resources (documents, case studies, links for further study).

Each pathway is guided yet flexible: the design is linear and progressive, ensuring coherence in learning, but it also allows users to revisit completed modules to strengthen their knowledge.

Additional resources and assessment

Within each main pathway, the platform also offers a series of extra resources – real case studies, documents, thematic insights, and multimedia materials – designed for those who wish to explore the topics in greater depth. These additional contents make it possible to broaden perspectives, stimulate curiosity, and connect theory with the daily practice of community gardening.

At the end of each pathway, a self-assessment test is available. This digital tool provides immediate feedback on the skills developed. It does not merely serve as a technical check, but as an opportunity for personal reflection that helps users review their learning journey, consolidate acquired knowledge, and identify areas for further improvement.

The GARDENISER ACADEMY platform is almost here!

We are currently building the GARDENISER ACADEMY E-Learning Platform – a space designed to provide free to use training for gardeners all around Europe.
